Fantastic Image Display
The picture on this TV was stunning right out of the box. After a few minor adjustments it was as close to perfect as I could imagine. It came with the SQ01 panel and it would be hard to differentiate the color depth and quality from some of the plasma sets I looked at. The TV is in a very bright room and the matte screen cuts out glare with no picture degradation. The viewing angle is very good, though we are never more than 25 to 30 degrees off center. The picture is very stable from channel to channel with no change in the back lighting that I can see, and the standard definition picture is almost HD quality when using the 16:9 picture format. It has separate settings for processing speed and anti-judder for motion blur when using the Custom view mode, unlike the majority of sets that combine both settings into one. I watch a lot of sports and really don't notice motion blur at 60hz so its certainly not an issue at 120hz. I'm not a gamer, so for my viewing habits I see no need to spend more for a 240hz option. The sound is very good for normal TV viewing. It can be connected to a home network and I have also hooked it up to my laptop using the VGA connection to watch Netflix and even that produces an acceptable SD picture. There are multiple picture settings you can use to suit just about any programming source, including watching at 120hz without the "soap opera" effect that some people find so annoying. There are 4 HDMI and 2 USB connections, plus one for headphones. There is no S video so you may need cables to hook up older external equipment. UVerse is the programming source.
One thing about settings. The first evening the picture suddenly got much darker and even though I would reset the brightness, it would get dark again once I left the menu. I spoke with Samsung and they had no idea why this was happening. It turns out this set automatically adjusts the picture to your room brightness in the Standard viewing mode, which is the factory default. You can change this in the Eco portion of the picture menu to never go below a certain brightness level or you can turn it off completely. This is not an issue when using any other viewing mode.
The last time I bought a LCD I continued to look around in case I found something better. That will not be the case this time as I am completely satisfied. Pilot shipping through Amazon was great. They delivered on time, set up the TV and swivel stand, and had everything working in 5-10 minutes.
Added note on Warranty: If you purchase an item with your Amazon Visa, or pretty much any credit card from a major bank, it extends the manufacturer's warranty 100% over the original duration (one year to two, etc.) at no cost. Amazon verified this but check with your bank if you use a non-Amazon card.

A Home Theater Centerpiece
Firstly, it's important to point out that I was shopping strictly for a high quality 1080p display. I have a home theater with external speakers and an advanced learning remote so the TV's audio quality and stock remote played an insignificant role in my decision to purchase this model. Now then, the LN46C630 was the best 46" 1080p display I could find that had all the features I was looking for. My criteria were for a model with 120hz, an adequate amount of HDMI inputs (4), a pc input, largely tweakable picture controls, excellent black levels, an absence of motion blur, and a cost of under $1000. This TV possesses all of those things, and beat out the competition of similar LG and Sony models because of what I deemed to be the cleanest, most well defined image, along with superior black levels. The only thing I felt lacking on this TV was the screen texture which is more prone to glare. Though, because my room is quite dark that was of no real concern either, but could be to others with more ambient light in there viewing room.
Here are a couple features I learned about only after I had the set that may be useful in making a decision.:
The TV has Eco Sensor which will automatically adjust the brightness of the TV based on the ambient light of the room. No worries, this CAN easily be turned off, and is definitely something to be aware of.
In the Advanced settings menu there are 2 expert patterns that you can use to dial in your picture settings. One is a contrast / brightness pattern, the other a color pattern.
If you'll be using the TV's speakers there is volume equalization which adjusts the volume automatically as you switch channel to channel.
You can stream media to this TV through your wired LAN or from an external USB storage device. if you want to do wireless, you'll need Samsung's optional wireless adapter.
The stock remote has a very narrow IR stream. You'll want to point it not at the center of the screen as most people do, but at the bottom right corner. It works fantastic once you learn to do that.
Some other important notes I'd mention to those that purchase this model:
At default levels the contrast is maxed out to 100 for every input. I and many others refer to this as "torch mode". That setting will shorten the life of your TV immensely and it needs to be adjusted first thing for each input. While properly calibrating your TV is more than I care to get into here (and pointless since every display is different as well as every input), a setting of 50 contrast and 50 brightness is good place to start for those that don't have any other means of calibrating it more precisely. I also lowered the back light from a default 14 to 10.
Under the picture options there is a setting called Auto Motion Plus. This is what controls motion blur. Familiarize yourself with the effects of this control. If you are like me it's going be disturbing to have this control on "Standard' to view bluray movies because it removes the natural blur of the camera moving and panning which to me is an annoyance. I use the "Clear" mode or just turn it off for movies.
Also the effects of the sharpness control only add noise to your image, use the sharpness control very judiciously. I have mine all the way down to a setting of 9.
All in all this is a fantastic set for the price. The very minor issues it has are far outweighed by the price, the amazing picture quality, and the tremendous control you have over adjusting the image to your liking.

Simply Awesome!
I have been waiting patiently for a few years now to make the switch from my 480i Toshiba 32" CRT to an HDTV. Thanks to a decent tax return I was finally able to join the Hi Def club. I live in a small apartment and already had a nice entertainment center which housed my aging Toshiba so I chose to stay with the 32" screen format as anything larger would not fit. After doing weeks of research it came down to this LG or the Samsung LN32C350. I found the picture quality to be almost identical and the price was the same for both, $399.00. I chose the LG because I got 10% off with a online coupon and no tax and free shipping from another online retailer. I couldn't be happier! This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. The TV is fantastic!, picture is bright, sharp, clear and gorgeous. The contrast ratio listed here is wrong though...it's not 50,000:1...it's actually 70,000:1...which is even better. I love the remote, easy to use menu and all the functions and options you can tweak. it's such an unbelievable difference seeing TV shows and movies in Hi Def. I can't comment on the sound as I have the TV speakers turned off because I have a pretty kick-ass surround sound system. I am A Dish Network subscriber and have it hooked to my VIP612 receiver and am loving it...also finally able to play my Xbox 360 in Hi Def and that is Da Bomb too!...BF:BC2 looks amazing! I was debating whether to get a 1080p or a 720p TV for a long time...then I found out (which I didn't realise) all HD TV signals...OTA (over the air), DirecTv, Cable, Dish Network are all broadcast in 720p/1080i...and since I don't watch blu-ray movies...spending extra money on a 1080p set just wouldn't make sense...also...on a TV 32" or less..the benefits of watching in 1080p are negligible. 720p looks phenomenal! It has a 1 year parts and labor warranty, and after you register it with LG you can extend your warranty by 2 years for $48...provided you do it in the 1st 180 days after purchase, so altogether you get a 3 year warranty for $48...from the manufacturer...not some 3rd party outfit, that's pretty good...I'll be doing that b4 my 180 days are up. I can't recommend this TV more...I am now an LG fanboy.

Great Watch
overall, a great watch. the weight might need a little getting used to, but once that happens you can't be without it. i [over]paid $2400 at a local retailer about 6 months ago (10/07) but very happy nonetheless. easy to read, automatic winding lasts for about a day and a half (on the shelf).
Great watch. But no one is doing you a favor in selling new one for more than $2,100 (not including tax). Fine retailers sell the watch for $2,500 and on nearly all occassions can provide 15 percent off. If it is priced more than $2,100 retailer's price is not aggressive enough, particulalry on the internet. c-mon.
This was the best Father's Day gift! The watch was wrapped nice and delivered promptly.

TAG Heuer Men's CV2010.BA0786 Carrera Automatic Chronograph Watch

Product Description

Tag Heuer launched the original Carrera Chronograph in 1963 as a tribute to the epic road race known as the Carrera Panamericana. Though thoroughly updated, this modern version echoes the clean lines and sober elegance of the original. The large polished steel case holds a black dial with luminescent diamond-set hands, hand-applied indexes, and an automatic date display at the three o'clock hour. Three circular subdials display chronograph hours and minutes and small seconds. The dial is capped with a virtually scratch-proof sapphire crystal and framed by a black bezel with tachymeter readings. A fluted crown, identical to that on the original model, is designed for easy handling. This watch is showcased on a handsome and durable brushed steel bracelet with polished accents. Calibre 16 automatic chronograph movement, visible through the see-through caseback, delivers excellent precision.

Great Watch - so far,
Please be warned, there are manufacturing shops out there that counterfeit parts that have been know to turn up in space launch vehicles and military/defense products, so stands to reason that a mere watch can be easily duplicated, especially given the high price margin...
Always a risk purchasing from someone other that the manufacturer or the authorized retailer, but this vendor appears to be the real deal. Have had the watch now for many months and I'm still one happy camper. Still haven't had time to take it in to a friend to get get it authenticated but will post my findings on Amazon when I do. Cheers.

Tag Heuer Carrera Auto Chrono
Purchased this watch from Amazon, sold and gauranteed by Amazon, LLC. It is a quality authentic watch in brand new condition as advertised. Saved a considerable amount of money compared to purchasing through an authorized dealer. By purchasing from non-authorized retailers you do not get a warranty card and cannot have your watch repaired by TAG. Also, you do not know the origin of the watch. I only bought the watch through Amazon because it was sold by Amazon a reliable company. I would take extra caution in buying such a product from an Amazon retailer.

Happy with this watch,
I have owned this watch for 5 years, but received it as a gift and it was not purchased at Amazon. It is a terrific watch because it is so sturdy. I never take it off except to shower and when dressing up. It has two limitation: 1. The face is bulky, about 8mm thick, and I didn't feel comfortable wearing it for very dressy occasions, so I bought a dress watch, with only a 5mm thick face. If you want to have only one expensive watch, this may not be the right one. 2. The watch is extremely waterproof, which is a plus, but it needs to have its battery changed by the manufacturer to assure the waterproof seal. This cost me about $120 the one time I had the battery changed (about $80 for Tag's charges and the local jeweler added about $40 for shipping and handling). Plus, you will not have the watch for several weeks while it is shipped back and forth. That high charge was a surprise to me; so I am writing this review to forewarn you.

Love it!!
I received this watch for Christmas from my husband and kids, after looking into a few different watches I settled on Tag for their name, style and waterproof-ability (not a word). The watch came in excellent condition and is beautiful. I am not really sure what isn't covered on the warranty since it arrived with a tag that said Amazon was not an authorized TAG Heuer reseller. I do have a big wrist but it fit nicely. If you can't usually find bracelets at the jewelery store to fit this will be too tight, make sure you check the size. So, I LOVE it it is beautiful!!

Sold on TAG
I feel in love with TAG about 17 years ago after purchasing one of their entry level stainless steel watches. Until that point I had never paid more than $100 for a watch, but I was earning a decent buck and wanted more of a "status" watch. Since I was WAY short of Rolex money, the jeweler suggested a very basic TAG that was on clearence. What it lacked in style it more than made up for in functionality and reliability. I owned it 4-5 years and it was stolen. Needless to say, I was crushed and couldn't afford to replace it so I went without wearing a watch for years because at that point returning to my collection of Seiko's was out of the question.
About 5 years ago I saw an ad featuring tennis pro, Martina Navratilova wearing this watch and I had to have it. It is my absolute favorite piece of jewelry and suprisingly the diamonds (while not large)are a pretty decent quality, giving it just enough bling. It transitions well from work to weekend so I rarely take it off. It has gotten banged a time or two and I don't have one scratch on my crystal. Last year I purchased a Phillip Stein to switch up from time to time and after a month or so it was back to the TAG. I highly recommend this watch.

Amazing Beautiful Watch!!!
This watch is absolutely stunning. I searched everywhere and could not even come close to the price on Amazon. My wife has always wanted a Tag (especially after she got me one 2 years ago!) and she loves it. Shipping was flawless - arrived in 2 days in perfect/new condition.
She had to have some links taken out to fit properly and there was only one Tag dealer in town (no other jewlers would touch it without a big "warranty violation" warning. They did it, although reluctantly. For some reason they couldn't understand why I would order it from Amazon and not buy it from them for $1200 more. Hmmmmmmm, really

Tag Heuer Watches Rock
I decided to ask my husband for a Tag Hauer watch for my birthday as both my daughter and son-in-law have worn Tags for over 5 years and are still very pleased with their watches. I liked the looks of the Aquaracer and Amazon had the best buy for the Aquaracer that I wanted. It turned out to be an absolutely beautiful watch and I can hardly wait for my birthday in a couple of weeks to wear it! Thank you, Amazon. I plan to continue to compare prices with Amazon for items I want in the future.

For more than 150 years, Tissot has embodied the innovation and tradition of Swiss watch-making. Based in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, in Le Locle, Switzerland, Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile created the watch making company Tissot in 1853. Whether in the technology of its movements, in the research for special materials or in the very functions of the watch itself, Tissot's engineers and watchmakers have developed pioneering timepieces over the years. Some of Tissot's triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world's first plastic watch) released in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece's movement in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a completely wooden case). Tissot uses the best movements (from ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse), the highest quality materials (316L steel, 18K gold, titanium) and scratch-proof glasses (sapphire crystal--at least 2500 Vickers).
The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot's timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is currently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR.
Tissot timepieces have been worn by a bevy of celebrities over the years--including Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and Nelson Mandela--and James Stewart's character L.B. Jefferies wore a Tissot timepiece in Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window." Today the company is represented in a variety of sporting fields by English soccer star Michael Owen, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, and MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden. Today, Tissot is a member of the Swatch Group, the world's largest watch producer and distributor.

Tissot time pieces are distinctive and hearty; keep excellent time, too
These are stylish and sturdy watches; especially appreciate their automatic movements; have the Le Locle and it's very accurate; some automatics NOT the well-known "A" varieties lose many minutes if the watch is on a wrist that is not moving much during a given period, as in sitting at a computer and composing screen work; so, I've noticed that mechanical automatic movement watches can lose significant time during periods of inactivity; the movement in the Tissot Le Locle keeps good time time particularly over night while the watch is at rest. reviews remark that it is an "ETA" movement and those are used in big time movement watches, apparently. now I know why they offer "winders" for sale; that appear to be gizmos that one straps their watches to that simulate the movement of a wrist in motion; I'm sure the "greens" will hate that zizmo because I think they're powered by an electric motor while you sleep through the night to keep the main spring in one's watch ready to strap on an go in the morning after awakening. Actually I've noticed that Obama appears to wear a large watch that has the appearance of a Tissot-type design. The PRC 200 chrono (not an automatic and the Le Cloe which is an automatic harnessed to a stainless band or one of their leather bands with the "dreaded" butterfly clasp...appears to me a Tissot-type design. I don't know since my proximity to Obama has been through the magic of 1080p TV on the cread FOX news, and they more than likely throw these images with a "right leaaning" view.
I love Tissot watches. Got to get off the internet as this is costing me too much $$.

Elegant, Classy, Solid... and it keeps Excellent Time and Chronograph Works!
Every so often, I think to myself, that instead of having a dozen or so "good" watches, I should have two "great" watches. It is in times like those, I look at this Tissot, and I realize had I done that, I would not have this beautiful time piece. My father taught me about the quality of Tissot watches fifty years ago, and I have several, including a T-Touch, but this one is more special than that, even though it does give one the temperature or elevation, etc. This Tissot Chronograph, with its blue face and solid stainless steel band, with its links of polish and brushed metal intermixed along the band, exudes class. I have had mine for two years and have found it to be an excellent time piece, very accurate, with a wide, but not too over-sized, face, deep, royal blue in color, almost navy blue, but not quite (navy blue usually is almost blue-black in color). This watch looks great whether I'm wearing a dark blue window-paned suit or various colored cotton knit shirts with khaki pants.
While the band looks solid, and is, it is not as heavy as one might anticipate, the lock clasp gives a firm click when you snap it shut, and you know this beauty is not going to slip-off your wrist. The crown screws firmly into place, and I have had no problems with any water seeping into it while swimming. The calendar is easy to adjust on those months that do not have 31 days, and you can do so without having to reset the time. Twice a year, I have to reset the time for going in and out of daylight savings time, and I have noticed the time is accurate to within a second, perhaps two. The crystal is thick and very scratch resistant (Mine doesn't have any scratches, so that is either a testament of the hardness of the crystal, or I'm taking better care of things (which I doubt because I still get a scratch on one or two of my "sport" watches).
There were a couple of comments on the illumination of the dial being weak, but I haven't experienced this. While I keep my watches in a drawer, this Tissot begins glowing within a few seconds after taking it out of the drawer and start waking down a dark hallway. I guess the individual hour markers could be wider, but unless I've put it on upside down,I haven't had an issue with deciphering the time, other than while watching a movie and looking down at the face. It seems the older I get the longer it takes my eyes to adjust, to this, or any other analogue watch, in a theater.
I would recommend this watch as a dress watch, a nice Sunday watch, a everyday watch and even a watch that you wear for an interview. It is solid, functional and dependable.

watch review
The watch was received on time as agreed. The watch was brand new and authentic. The watch is very beautiful and keeps perfect time. I have owned a similar Heuer since 1976 and it still keeps perfect time and has always been totally reliable. It has now been retired, and I hope the current model just purchased gives the same good service.

Amazing watch
Bought this particular model on Amazon.com based on the price being 40% less than retail. No one else would match it. Beautiful watch, very balanced and comfortable on wrist. Did notice that my less expensive quartz Tag keeps better time. Delivery was lightning fast (3 days). The only negative was that two weeks after the purchase the price for the same piece dropped by $200. Hard to judge when to move on the transaction as when the availability became less and less the price went up. If I only waited......
I am more than pleased with the transaction and would buy from Amazon.com again.

Excellent watch
I was looking through a magazine at the barber shop and saw an ad for this watch.
Since I had been looking for this style of watch for several years, I looked it up on line.
The price was reasonable and the watch is magnificent in quality and design.
It will probably be the last watch I ever purchase.

Rolex watch
Having wanted a Rolex since I was a teenager, I found a used one an got an elderly watchmaker to teach me how to service it completely. The quality is outstanding, inside and out. The case design, to protect the mechanism, is insuperable. The mechanism is built like a tank, built to last a lifetime, though it needs to be serviced every 5 years. It is probably the finest production watch in the world. I like it better than my Vacheron in every way.
There are a few negatives, though. Adjusting the regulator is a real pain and requires a special tool. You must partially disassemble the watch and remove the balance to adjust it, or risk breaking the balance staff. Then reassemble and wear the watch and see how it runs on your wrist. I adjusted it 12 times before I got mine keeping time as it should, to 3 seconds per day error. This watch would be better if it had a micro-regulator.
The band wears fast if it is two-tone or solid gold. If you want durability, buy the stainless steel watch.
Rolex and all the major watch brands have made it impossible to find replacement parts since the year 2000. This means you must send your watch to Rolex and pay them $1000 to service your watch, when what you need is a $50 part. This is really hurting the watch repair business. The inability to buy parts, in my opinion, dramatically reduces the investment potential of any product.
Buying a Rolex is expensive, but so is owning one. Your best lubricants last about 6 years, so your watch should be serviced every 5 years.
Despite the negatives, I like my Rolexes. I have had three of them since 1994. I bought them all used. My favorite is from 1972 and has a 1570 series mechanism, which I recommend most highly. It is probably the best mechanical watch money can buy.

everlasting beauty....and performance
well what can I say, Rolex is Rolex, I've loved the brand for ages (my papa is a watch afficionado loves the brand) they are expensive it took me 36 years to have it..gave it a bit of thought because 7k is quite some money, but after thinking it for couple of weeks i said "screw it let's do it"... the funny thing is I do not have the submariner dahhh but a GMT master 2, which I believe (if you are not a professional/leisure diver) the GMT is better choice, it keeps time in 3 time zones, with my job in a globalized world I have to keep up from Athens, Mexico, San Diego and Canada, so the GMT is great for keeping your agenda up to speed. the new watch (also the Submariner) has a new ceramic bezel, which in my opinion is the best part of the watch (if you broke it down) still as an altogether watch is magnificent.. too much tradition, too much time..like other people say, this is a jewel that stands the passing of time....also have an omega GMT seamaster, have had it for 5 years now, and believe it or not keeps better time??!!!(the Rolex get's few sconds behind), still Rolex is Rolex,,,everlasting beauty and also performance...if you got the buck, the luck and the style...get the rolex won't be dissapointed!!!

Great First Watch !
I started my watch collection 2 years ago with this one. Always wanted a black, white and a blue watch for my collection. Bought this black one to start my collection and now own a Tag Aquaracer (Alarm & black dial), Omega Speedmaster(Day & Date, Automatic, Silver dial), Omega Seamaster (Automatic, White dial, circa 1960) and Breitling Aeromarine Colt (Automatic, Blue dial) besides a bunch of Bulova, Citizen, Seiko, Timex etc. This is a very good and stunning all-round watch for all occasions - formal, casual, sports etc. I prefer my blue Breitling Colt otherwise - on most occasions and the Breitling is my favorite watch.
I don't use the alarm much though it looks good and add character to the dial. Sound / Beep is not loud enough - and can be only heard if there is a pin-drop silence, your are not fast asleep and are half expecting it to o-off. I travel frequently and so have to constantly adjust the time to local time zones. Doing so shifts the alarm calibration as well. So each time I need to set the alarm - need to calibrate it also again which is a pain. No scratches on the glass after more than 2 years of good use. Keeps accurate time. Not heavy or big sized for my wrist. Simple yet elegant ! Love it !!

Aquaracer Quartz Alarm
I have owned my Aquaracer for about 8 months now and it has proven to be very accurate and reliable. Several reviewers on different sites have complained about the alarm feature and at first it confused me too. After CAREFULLY reading the manual I realized that it is normal for the alarm hands to rotate when pulling out the stem to set the time on the watch. This is part of the alarm synchronization procedure. After setting the time the alarm needs to be synchronized to the time set. This is done while the watch is still in time set mode with the crown pulled all the way out. Then just hold the alarm button in till the alarm hands show exactly the same time as the watch hands. When the crown is pushed back in the alarm hands return to their previously set position and are synchronized. Once this is done the alarm is accurate to the second. I have never before seen an analog watch with an alarm that sounded on the second.
I am quite impressed with the quality of this watch. The crown and stem screw in nicely and the sapphire crystal is still without the slightest scratch. The one way rotating bezel has 120 clicks for a complete rotation and requires enough effort to turn that it has never moved unintentionally. The luminous coating on the hands and face markings are very bright and keep usable brightness all night. This is always my watch of choiฆำำce now when I expect to be out at night. The date display is well done and quite readable at the unique six o'clock position. While the bracelet uses pressed in pins for adjustment rather than threaded screws, the pins press into small bushings that work quite well and the bracelet feels well made. I also like the fact that Tag Heuer did not try to copy the Rolex Submariner or Omega Seamaster as so many other makers have, but created their own style with the Aquaracer line. And finally I like the size. I know that huge watches are quite in style these days but my wrists are a bit small and at 38.4 mm the case is a very nice size that looks and feels good to wear.

Omega Men's 2209.50.00 Seamaster Planet Ocean Automatic Chronometer Watch

Product Description

The Seamaster Planet Ocean from Omega delivers exceptional performance and great style, both above water and below. The solid steel case frames a black dial with luminous hands and markers for excellent visibility, even in low light conditions, a red-tipped luminous seconds hand and seconds indexes, and a date display. The dial is capped with a virtually scratch-proof sapphire crystal and framed by a unidirectional rotating steel bezel, in orange, with minute markings and fluted edges for grip. A handsome and durable steel link bracelet completes the look. This Omega watch features self-winding Swiss automatic movement enhanced by Omega's breakthrough co-axial escapement, a technology that ensures high precision and stable accuracy over long periods of use. It is rated water resistant to a full 600 meters (or 2000 feet).

The last sport watch you'll ever need to buy.
The last sport watch you'll ever need to buy.
This review refers to the Model 2218.50, XL version (45 mm case) with steel bracelet. The opinions of the movement, adjustment and reliability are also applicable to the model with rubber strap and leather / lizard strap.
This is a hefty timepiece, it weighs 9+ ounces (over half a pound), it feels and exudes quality and is bound to illicit a glance and a double take. The domed double anti glare sapphire crystal is super sharp and sometimes hard to determine it is even there.
The exterior is a combination of brushed and polished stainless steel, most notably the trademark Omega horns are this blended finish.
The screw down crown is adorned with the Omega logo and easy to open, the first position enables manual winding for a power boost, the helium escape valve at 10:00 is adorned with the periodic symbol "He".
Clockwise turns of the crown in second position adjusts the date forward, the date can't be adjusted backwards. Time adjustment is easy and rapid; no adjustment for seconds is available.
The unidirectional bezel rotates counter clockwise 120 clicks and lines up perfectly with every second marker, the solid feel of the rotation is nothing less than you'd expect from an Omega.
The luminescent material of this watch is a glow magnet, just a few seconds exposure to sunlight or held close to a lamp will turn the face of this watch into a lighthouse! Combined with the chrome and split bezel hands of the subdials and this timepiece can be used as a signal mirror for low flying aircraft.
The Omega 3313 movement is identical to their 3303 movement except the 3313 has the co-axial escapement, this is the same movement inside the Omega DeVille and will be used in future models.
The accuracy of this watch is only surpassed by my Omega SeaMaster Quartz 300 2221.80, my Quartz Omega never loses or gains a second and the PO gains less than 5 seconds a week. The days I don't wear it, I spend 60 seconds winding it and store it standing vertically for optimum movement.
The bracelet includes the scuba extension of all SeaMasters, but has no convenience pins for rapid adjustment or for bodily weight fluctuation. It releases easily with the double release pins and feels confidently closed when clasped.
I've performed testing of the power reserve, it continues to function about 43 hours with a full wind.
The watch can also function with a running chronograph for over 40 hours on a full wind, that is impressive.
Overall, I'd recommend this watch for anyone who wants an exquisite sport timepiece which isn't out of place at a formal, like all of the Omegas made before it; I expect this watch to endure for my grandchildren and their grandchildren.

TAG Heuer Men's CAF1010.FT8011 Aquaracer Chronotimer Watch

Product Description

Boasting an eye-catching analog time display with central hour, minute, and second hands, as well as a digital time display with backlit dial, the Aquaracer Chronotimer Watch #CAF1010.FT8011 from TAG Heuer will keep your day on track. A 46-millimeter stainless steel case combines with a sturdy rubber strap for a sleek, sporty look. There's also a countdown with alarm option that's great for traveling and workouts, as well as a daily and diary alarm function to keep you organized. It also features a convenient perpetual calendar. This rugged accessory is water resistant to 984 feet, and it sports a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal to guard against wear and tear.

Same watch with metal band: CAF1010.BA0821
I have this same watch with the metal band. As of this writing, AMAZON has a mislabeled model number (same model number except for the last two digits ending in 15 vice 21...and there seems to be no such thing as a "MICROTIMER"), yet the metal band CAF1010.BA0821 on AMAZON does not have the proper specs annotated on that page for this model number. This is why I am writing the review here (same time-piece, but band made of rubber).
My work as an international airline pilot takes me overseas four to five times per month and this watch fits the bill. With a twist of the crown, and the push of one button, I have the second time zone (T2) displayed in the bottom window. There is also the option of easily changing T1 home time to the new local time you just arrived in, as the analog clock hands will zip to the digital time you place for the hour in the digital display without affecting minutes and seconds (useful if you'd like T2 to be ZULU or GMT). You can also change the minute hand (i.e. trip to India) forward 30 minutes and the seconds are unaffected (lesser known fact: you can also look at any Greenwich Time set analog time display upside down and get local Mumbai, India time). One push of the crown, and all the windows are backlit (btw, the face and hands are luminescent with the lights out). This watch also includes a daily alarm (synchronized to time zone one or T1...you'll have to do the math to use it in different time zones unless you shifted T1 time to your location time zone, obviously). It also features a diary alarm which allows you to set alarms a well into the future. The chronograph is great to time your workout runs, as well. So far this watch is on the high end of accuracy for a quartz time-piece. Mine loses only 1/2 second per week and two seconds per month variation in accuracy for a non-atomic watch is fine by me. If this watch were light/solar powered like a CITIZEN or CASIO, it would be the ultimate package in a watch. But I'm not complaining if two to five years is what the battery will give me and like other lifetime lasting high end watches, a battery change is a good time to get the mechanism lubed up and inspected...especially a watch I will certainly take down to 70 feet or so on my dive vacation.
Automatic watches have completely unacceptable "accuracy" for my needs and they must often be serviced as often as battery run watches need battery changes due to the complexities of the moving parts.
Also, this watch has an energy saving mode if you need to put it away for a while.
Regarding the operation of the watch, it does take a little getting use to. If you see this watch in a jewelry store, good luck if you can get the person behind the glass case to explain it to you. But if you want to see how the thing operates before buying or to avoid sapping battery life as you figure it out, you can get a true to life interactive demo here: http://www.tagheuer.com/the-news/new-products/chronotimer-demo/index.lbl .
And don't lose the instruction booklet. I couldn't find one on the web anywhere when I had temporarily misplaced it right after purchasing the watch.

Class
This is my fourth Swiss timepiece and it has to be said, my favourite. I have also owned an Ikepod, Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow and a Tag F1, the latter of which I still own as it is just such a fun watch.
I basically swapped my Broad Arrow (BA) for the Planet Ocean XL (PO XL) and I'm glad I did (the XL is the one to go for not the baby brother version). The BA is a fantastic watch but I started to find it just a little too dressy for my taste. The PO XL on the other hand is a fantastic, great looking, chunky sports watch which grabs peoples attention without being too flash. It can be worn as an everyday watch but it still has the class and will look great on that special occasion. The PO is beautifully made and a pleasure to wear. I looked at the Tags (Aquaracer and Link) Breitling (colt) and some others in the price range and they just didn't come close to this one in my opinion. I have had it 6 months now and timekeeping is spot on as you would expect. I tend to get bored with my watches and sell them on and replace them after a few years. But I can honestly say that I might just settle down with my Planet Ocean.

Watchmakers Advice,
I am rather opinionated when it comes to luxury watches. This comes from spending 2 years in watchmaking school, studying directly under the guidance of a certified master swiss watchmaker who came here from Europe. Watches, especially mid to high grade swiss watches, are a passion of mine. I am not loyal to a brand or a style or anything else. I judge them for what they are, in terms of quality, function, construction, and style. A watchmakers point of view.
This said I will tell you that this particular watch is what I consider to be a "best kept secret" sort of watch. This is an AUTOMATIC watch (read: Mechanical - NOT Quartz), and of CHRONOMETER grade function. Chronometer as used here is a measure of accurate timekeeping, not quality - a point often misunderstood - and is used mostly from a marketing point of view by companies such as Rolex. HOWEVER. This movement in THIS watch is actually EXCELLENT in terms of quality, time keeping ability, and construction - easily comparable to other Swiss made movements from other famous manufacturers costing several times as much. This watch, properly serviced, will provide a lifetime of use - and probably more. Absolutely the sort of watch you pass down to the next generation.
All in all - and EXCELLENT choice - especially for those seeking their first QUALITY Swiss watch purchase.

The last sport watch you'll ever need to buy.

Love it!
This is my first product from Tag Heuer and I was apprehensive to purchase it not only because of no previous experience with the brand but also buying from an unauthorized dealer, but I decided to give it a chance and buy direct from Amazon.
I've had the Aquaracer 500M Calibre 5 Automatic for a week now and I'm thrilled with it. The quality of the wristwatch is very high. The watch itself is a large piece but I have big wrists so it doesn't look gigantic on my wrist. People with smaller wrists may be put off by the size of the watch though. I didn't have to make any adjustments to the band to wear the watch, it fit properly right out of the box. The watch is also heavy but both the size and the weight give it a satisfying substantial feel. The rotating bezel turns effortlessly and the design is such that the black portion is ribbed and actually slightly recessed, which should help preserve it from scratches over the long run. The face of the dial is also ribbed and has an interesting textured look to it. The large size of the face makes it very easy to read. The date is magnified with a "cyclops" at the 9 o'clock position rather then the traditional 3 o'clock position. The magnification is strong, though I would not say it's as strong as a Rolex. At night the hands and dial glow adequately but I would not call it bright. The case back has an observation window so you can see the internal components of the movement. The clasp includes an expansion for placing the watch over a wet suit if it is to be used for diving.
I have previous experience with a Tudor "automatic" watch that was very poor, so I was very concerned at how accurate and reliable the Aquaracer 500M would be. I've set the date and time once via [...] and thus far after one week it has lost 4 seconds so it's operating well within acceptable automatic watch specs, some might even say it's running exceptionally well. I check the accuracy daily. I've experimented with the old "self regulation" tricks to see how they effect the 500m and I've found putting the watch crown up at night results in -2 seconds, laying it flat results in -4 seconds, and placing it crown down yeilds +2 seconds. The loss in time since setting can be accounted for, it appears, by the positions I've placed it in at night. If concerned about the accuracy the Aquaracer 500M is also available in a quartz(battery operated) model.
Shipped from Amazon the watch arrived promptly and the serial number, manuals and box were all intact. The international warranty card was not included however, but the watch is covered by a warranty direct from Amazon.
After one week of owning the watch I can hardly think of a negative comment about the Aquaracer 500M. The only thing I can think of is the brushed stainless finish, while beautiful, scratches very easily. Light scratches appear to be easily buffed out with a Scotchbright pad however.
In my search for a new watch I was considering the Rolex Submariner and the Omega Planet Ocean besides the Aquaracer 500M. I decided on the 500M due to Amazon's price and I was comfortable with a warranty through Amazon. I am 100% satisfied with the purchase and the Submariner and Planet Ocean are distant memories.
